CPCCLDG3001A – Licence to perform dogging
High Risk Work Licence (DG)

This course covers all the requirements for obtaining a national High-Risk Work Licence (Class DG) for crane dogging.

Successfully completing this course will allow you to direct the load movements for cranes, select and inspect lifting equipment such as chains, synthetic slings, shackles and lifting beams within Australia.

Important information prior to enrolment

+ COURSE DELIVERY

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at Global Skills Develpoment Group Pty Ltd premises (4/133 Sharp Street, Cooma NSW 2630)

+ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

An individual undertaking this course with Global Skills Development Group Pty Ltd RTO 45645 will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:​

  • You Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

  • You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course

  • You must understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe performance of high risk work

  • You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo identification and proof of NSW address

  • Wear comfortable and practical clothing and enclosed footwear

  • A passport photo is required when you lodge your HRW Licence application with Australia Post

  • Participants must be able to read and write  with a short literacy and numeracy test required

+ COURSE DURATION

Face to Face – 40 Hour (minimum)

+ ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

Three (3) assessments will be conducted over the duration of the course – (formative assessment) Knowledge, Calculations and Practical Assessments.

On the last day of the course a summative assessment will be conducted by an approved State regulatory body assessor (e.g. SafeWork NSW) All critical components must be demonstrated and answered correctly

Re-Assessment

Applicants deemed not competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Applicants cannot be reassessed for a minimum of 48 hours from the date of the original assessment. Note: There is no extra cost for this extra training or reassessment.

+ CERTIFICATE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

No industry recommended renewal is identified on the certificate, employers are recommended to consult with stakeholders to identify appropriate training periods.

+ COURSE FEES AND PAYMENTS

  • Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and GSD.

TLILIC0005 - Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)


High Risk Work Licence (WP)

This training has been designed for people needing to develop the skills and

knowledge required to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (EWP's or commonly known as

EWPs). The course will provide training in the safe use of various types of elevated work platforms

including boom type MEWPs with boom length under 11 metres. Participants may complete singular or

multiple modules, depending on the type of EWP they will be operating.

Modules include –

• Vertical Lift (VL)

• Scissor Lift (SL)

• Self Propelled Boom Lift (BL)

• Trailer Lift (TL)

• Truck Mounted Lift (TM)

• Advanced Boom (AB)

During the training sessions we may complete practical assessments where appropriate, in a group environment, on actual work tasks or in a simulated environment.

Our aim with this course is to provide the participants with the skills and the knowledge to safely operate an elevated work platform, and which will undergo assessments required by the relevant State or Territory to issue a High Risk Work Licence for EWP.


Note:

An additional fee is charged by WorkSafe for issuing the licence.

The High Risk Work Licence for Elevating Work Platforms is required for any EWP which has a boom capable of extension to 11 metres or more in height.
