Fire Warden – PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to work within the command, control, and coordination structure of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). Training includes how to:
Undertake pre-emergency planning;
Take appropriate actions in an emergency; and
Assist with post emergency activities
Chief Fire Warden – PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation
This training builds on learning in the fire warden course and involves the skills and knowledge required to make decisions about the safety of occupants during a facility emergency and to give instructions on the priority order for responding to an emergency incident. It applies to members of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) who are chief wardens, deputy chief wardens and communications officers.
Duration and Delivery Mode
This course is delivered over 8 hours in a face-to-face learning environment. Due to the intensive nature of this training attendance for the full workshop times is required.
Students who have successfully completed Fire Warden training (PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation) can enrol into Chief Fire Warden training (PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation) as a standalone unit and do not need to attend the first day of training. To be eligible for this option evidence of having successfully completed PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation must be supplied at the time of enrolment.
To be eligible to enrol into this course students must be 14 years or older. Written parental consent is required for all students under the age of 18 years.
Students must have the right to study in Australia, and evidence of citizenship, residency status, or visa entitlements will be asked for at the time of enrolment. Global Skills Development is not a CRICOS registered RTO, so we are unfortunately unable to accept enrolments from people who are on a Student Visa (subclass 500).
To study any accredited course with Global Skills Development you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
At the time of enrolment students will be asked to complete a short online Language, Literacy, and Numeracy assessment to ensure they have the required skills to successfully participate in training and assessment and identify the need for additional support.
This course is assessed using a combination of practical skills demonstrations, verbal questioning, and written assessment tasks.

Cost for Chief Fire Warden unit only (PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation) = $155 (includes administration fee).
Note that PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation is a pre-requisite unit for PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation. Students wishing to do PUAFER006 as a standalone unit must supply evidence of having successfully completed PUAFER005 at the time of enrolment.
Recognition of Prior Learning

To be eligible for recognition of prior learning candidates must be able to demonstrate that they meet all the unit requirements. For this course RPL assessment involves combinations of:
Workplace supervisor reports
Resume detailing prior work experience, with referee contact details
Practical demonstration of skills
Verbal and/or written questioning
